Large and rapidly growing Aphaenogaster pythia colony consisting of two queens, approximately 75 workers and a huge amount of brood across multiple stages, including eggs, larvae and pupae. New workers are emerging almost daily, often more than one. This striking yellow species is active and entertaining to watch. The complete colony comes housed in its current established AntsHQ Myrmeco Nano nest from the UK, avoiding the stress of transferring them into another setup. Full transparency: small external grain/storage mites were recently noticed around the former incubator and feeding area. None have been observed attached to either queen or the workers. The exterior of the setup has been cleaned, isolated and monitored, with mite numbers continuing to decline. Located on the Gold Coast. Local pickup is strongly preferred due to the established setup, although safe postage may be considered depending on destination, weather and biosecurity requirements.
