16mm x 150mm borosilicate glass test tubes are probably the most versatile tubes for ant keeping because they adequately cover all small and medium size species.  I find it amazing how quickly you can use these up. The only species we put into 20mm x 150mm tubes are Bull Ants, which we immediately connected to a Ytong nest through to an outworld as they are semi claustral, and it gives them a choice of nesting sites. And, The Giant Sugar Ant Camponotus intrepidus. 

To keep pricing simple they are 55c each including all taxes. So for example a 20 pack is $11 or a 50 pack is $27.50.

16mm x 100mm polypropylene plastic test tubes are great for field collecting all except the largest species and for keeping the smaller species. One advantage is if going to a tubs and tubes method as the next step they fit easily into a small tub allowing a lot of founding species to be stored in a small space.

13mm x 100mm polypropylene plastic test tubes are great for keeping the tiny and small species.

A smart move is to buy more than you think you need ( because I find I always go through more tubes than I think and keep getting caught short ) of each size to save on postage. I believe this is the best deal on test tubes around without buying huge quantities.
